A 2015 commitment by the South Australian Government to invest half a million dollars with the Roseworthy, SA, head-quartered Cooperative Research Centre for High Integrity Australian Pork, has already paid substantial dividends for the state’s pork industry, according to Pork CRC CEO Roger Campbell.

The Federal Government is finalising contracts with the six prawn farm businesses affected by the outbreak of White Spot disease in the Logan River area of Queensland, giving the green light for $20 million in financial assistance to flow.

The level of understanding of biosecurity amongst Australian producers has increased, with more producers controlling weeds and managing pests and diseases of crops and livestock.

That’s according to an Australia-wide survey of both crop and livestock producers to track trends in attitudes towards and awareness about farm biosecurity.
