Investing in agriculture on agenda at ABARES Outlook 2016 conference

The ABARES Outlook conference is Australia’s premier information and networking forum for delegates in the agriculture, water resources, forestry and fisheries sectors.

The Outlook 2016 theme of Investing in agriculture – growing our future recognises the need for ongoing investment in the agriculture sector to ensure its future success – in land to increase scale; in technology to enhance productivity; in people to ensure the skills needed to capture the opportunities of a modern industry and to create succession opportunities. On the supply side it recognises the new and increasingly diverse sources of capital that are available to agriculture and alternative financing models that are providing opportunities for farmers.

ABARES is pleased to confirm that Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, the Hon. Barnaby Joyce MP, will deliver the opening address at Outlook 2016 on Tuesday 1 March from 9.00am.
