Western Local Land Services is excitedly counting down the days to the Hungerford Field Day where they will catch up with landholders and community members and inform them of upcoming opportunities in the Western region.
The field day, which is on next Friday, 2 June 2017, will welcome exhibitors such as the Rural Fire Service, Rural Financial Counsellors and the McGrath Foundation who will be conducting health checks, while a variety of goods such as farming and camping equipment will be available for purchase.
Western Local Land Services, Western Landcare and South West NRM will also share a trade stall, with Western Local Land Services to offer information on:
- funding and partnerships opportunities
- upcoming events in the Western region
- the services we deliver
- recent work that has been completed in the Western region.
Senior Land Services Officer, Fiona Garland is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces at the field day and meeting new ones as well.
“Field days are a fantastic way for us to interact and engage with landholders and let them know what is coming up at Western Local Land Services,” Ms Garland said.
“From discussing what projects and funding opportunities are available to having a general chat about how things have been on their properties, it is all very valuable for landholders.
“It is also great for us to hear about what issues are of most concern to landholders at the moment so we can use that feedback when organising future workshops and tailor our services accordingly.
“We really enjoy being part of these community events and I’d encourage anyone from the area or who hasn’t been before to come along and experience what will be a great day.”
Western Local Land Services District Veterinarian, Charlotte Cavanagh will be one of several staff members at the trade stall, and she will be available to answer any landholder questions and give advice regarding animal health.
All funds raised at the Hungerford Field Day will be donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
