Organisers of grains industry events are invited to apply for Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) funding.
GRDC Head of Corporate Affairs, Ms Kylie Dunstan, says the GRDC recognises the dedicated and passionate teams behind conferences, workshops, seminars and field days who work tirelessly to deliver value to the grains industry through building skills and capacity.
“Active grassroots engagement in extension activities like conferences and field days is one of the key conduits of information flow between researchers, service providers, advisors and growers,” Ms Dunstan said.
“Exposure to new ideas and ready access to experts though targeted events are powerful influencers of practice change, and align well with GRDC’s mission statement of investing in research, development and extension to drive enduring profitability for Australian grain growers.
“GRDC recognises that capacity building through event support funding is a long term investment in the grains industry’s most important asset – its people.
“Events such as conferences, workshops and seminars are run by passionate people dedicated to improving the knowledge base and uptake of information right across the agricultural landscape, and it’s rewarding as an organisation to be able to support the people who deliver that value ultimately to growers.”
Applications can be submitted until 5:00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time (AEDST) on Wednesday, January 31 2018, via the GRDC’s Grains Investment Portal at https://access.grdc.com.au/.
